MEDICAL CARE Medical needs are met with a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities
and medical specialists. The two-campus Dixie Regional Medical Center
(DRMC) provides a full range of emergency, acute inpatient and outpatient
care services as well as one of the premiere cardiac care facilities
in the southwest. DRMC also provides a world-class joint replacement
and rehabilitation facility, a leading cancer center and the latest in
imaging services. Additionally, several independent, leading surgical
centers are located in the area and many specialists ranging from cardiac
and orthopedic to ophthalmology and oncology.
EDUCATION
Southern Utah is home to Dixie State College (DSC) in St. George. This
9,000-student campus offers four-year degrees in computers and IT, biology,
English, business administration, communications, nursing and elementary
education and a wide range of Associate Degrees and certificates. Southern
Utah University, located in nearby Cedar City, offers a wide range of
Major and Minor degrees and six master’s programs. K-12 education
is served by Washington County School District and the charter school,
Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts.
